Description

AGRIS was initially created in the 1970s as a bibliographic database. Since the growth of the Internet in the late 1990s AGRIS has become a network of centres promoting the exchange of agricultural science and technology information through the use of common standards and methodologies. The AGRIS open archives and bibliographical databases cover all aspects of agriculture, including forestry, animal husbandry, aquatic sciences and fisheries, and human nutrition. AGRIS coverage includes unique grey literature - unpublished scientific and technical reports, theses, conference papers, and government publications, as well as extension literature from over 100 countries.  At the heart of the AGRIS network is the AGRIS repository, a database of about 2.5 million structured bibliographic metadata records covering the period from 1975 to the present day.
